The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is served by a 30 megawatt cogeneration facility near the main campus.
The existing facility was in need of a new cooling tower to match expanding capabilities of the primary turbine generator. This unit is essential to campus operations and UNC Hospitals as it is the primary source of on-site power generation and also directly supports steam production to meet mission critical hospital and research functions.
